The water consumption of broilers is related to ambient temperature, chicken ridge and feed intake, as shown in Table 1 and Table 2.

Table 2 Relationship between water consumption and feed intake at different room temperatures
Room temperature ℃ | 4 | 10 | 16 | 21 | 27 | 38 |

Broilers drink a large amount of water. It is recommended that farmers use nipple drinkers with a flow rate of 50-70ml/min. Each nipple drinker can provide 8-10 chickens.
Water consumption of chickens of different ages: chicks of 1-6 weeks old, daily drinking water of 20-100 ml per chicken; young chickens of 7-12 weeks old, daily drinking water of 100-200 ml of each chicken .
Drinking water at different temperatures and different feed intakes: Under normal ambient conditions of 20 degrees air temperature, the amount of drinking water is twice that of intake; under high temperature 35 degrees ambient conditions, the amount of drinking water is 4.5 times that of intake.
Water consumption in different seasons: 100 ml of water per chicken per day in winter; 200 ml of water per chicken per day in spring and autumn; 300 ml of water per chicken per day in summer.
